Lately, I’ve really been into the mid-century modern aesthetic look with the mix of color blocking and wood accent. Instead of purchasing new furniture, we decided to try a little “hack” by purchasing contact paper on Amazon and updating our TV stand. It comes in a wide variety of prints ranging from marble to wood so there’s likely something for everyone.

For under $10, we got the dark walnut roll, and at first, I must say that I was skeptical of the wood print not being convincing, but it wasn’t until we laid it down that I realized that it was actually a pretty realistic grain pattern.

I definitely recommend having two people for this project as it helps to have someone hold the contact paper taut, while the other person smooth it out. At one point we felt it was easier to have the paper completely unrolled and laid out on the surface, then smooth out the bubbles section by section.

Overall this was a rewarding DIY seeing as how it was a low cost project that yielded great results! We extended the life of our TV stand a few additional years!  For a visual review and peak at this product and the finished result, please check out my video!
